Lupe Fiasco just released his brand new mixtape Friend of the People for a treat on this day of giving thanks. Even though this project was shelved after announcing that it would originally drop in December 2009, I am thankful that it is finally here. Lupe Fiasco manages to not disappoint with this mixtape, as he goes hard with sick samples and remixes, notably from Skrillex, Nero, Bassnectar, Kaskade, Ellie Goulding, Justice, M83, The Glitch Mob, Sebastian, and John Coltrane. After Lupe was disappointed he gave us Lasers, this is a great reward full of the lyrical Lupe we have come to love. Let’s hope Food & Liquor II is on this level lyrically.
