Miguel – Adorn (Sammy Bananas Bootleg)

The original “Adorn” by Miguel is one of my current favorite songs – so touching it at all usually will ruin the track for me. Not this time. Fool’s Gold artist Sammy Banana’s taps into the groove and turns it up a notch without getting carried away, adding some subtlety of his own. That is one way to turn a great song into a great remix. Spotted at PnP. Enjoy.

Logic – Steps Back Radio Freestyle ft Mikkey Halsted

The hottest up and comer in the game right now, Logic, released a freestyle which will have an official home on DJ Don Cannon’s upcoming mixtape, “Steps Back Radio”. For it he grabs assistance from a Chitown classic, Mikkey Halsted. A pretty typical radio freestyle beat, but it just makes you see why Logic is blowing up so quickly – and both artists come with top quality lyrics. Go follow Logic on Facebook and enjoy.

This is just feel good music you and your parents can shake their booty to. I fell in love with Mayer Hawthorne after hearing his Mr. Blue Sky cover, but have never been quite as impressed since then. Our friends RAC put a great spin on his “No Strings” this weekend and turned it into a groove for everyone. It’s off their upcoming project, How Do You Do Remixes EP, coming out soon. Enjoy.

Xaphoon Jones, better known as 1/2 of Chiddy Bang, drops off the third installment in his mixtape series. Featuring a slue of bootlegs, remixes, and mashups, Xaphoon Jones Mixtape Vol. 3 features a little something for everyone. Personally, remixes of mainstream music often pails in comparison to original content; however, Xaph does a nice job of spicing things up. The Gucci & Ellie mashup is out of this world. Enjoy..

Believe it or not, Chris Webby has a Gangsta Grillz mixatpe dropping this coming Monday. To warm fans up, Webby drops off the title track, aptly titled “Bars On Me.” Unbeknownst to most music fans, Chris seems to be continuing to gain a steady following. With that being said, I can’t see Mr. Webby’s celebrity growing much more due to his sound and subject matter, among other things. Enjoy..

On his 30th birthday, Lil Wayne (To be exact it was actually Scoob Doo) lets go of a makeshift video off Dedication 4. Mr. Carter has certainly been busy this week. In the past few days the self-proclaimed Best Rapper Alive officially announced his forthcoming I Am Not A Human Being II, opened a skate park in his home town of New Orleans, and surpassed Elvis, yes Elvis, for the most charted songs on the Billboard 100. Hate him or love him, Weezy is still watched every moment of his life. Enjoy..
