The emcee is charged with reckless endangerment and illegal weapons possession after a deadly shooting left his bodyguard dead.
Before Rapper T.I. even hit the stage last night at New York City’s Irving Plaza, guns went off in the green room, causing the 950 concert goers to evacuate the building.
At around 10:15PM EST, in a packed green room upstairs, the first of five bullets were fired off after what started as a fist fight, while Maino and Uncle Murda performed on stage downstairs.
Brooklyn Hip Hop artist, Troy Ave aka Roland Collins, apparently shot first according to police but eventually shot himself, in the leg during the tussle and was taken to the hospital before being arrested. Police are unclear on if there was more than one weapon involved but the casings on the 5 bullets will eventually shed more light.
Troy Ave’s longtime friend, Ronald McPhatter was shot in the stomach and pronounced dead at Beth Israel Hospital.
Police have reported that though all guests in the green room had proper VIP credentials, it is unclear if those same patrons were required to go through the metal detectors at the entrance, mandated to all other concert goers that evening.
Unfortunately, an innocent fan in the crowd downstairs was as shot by a bullet that went through the floor. He was hit in the abdomen but is likely to recover.
By the time the building was evacuated, there were three injuries and 1 death, on account to the green room altercation involved rapper Troy Ave.
